STORYTELLING
REV. ROBERT B. JONES, SR.
A Nationally Recognized Storyteller
Rev. Robert Jones, Sr. is a nationally known and acclaimed storyteller. He has been featured a number of times in such prestigious festivals as the National Storytelling Festival (Jonesborough, TN), the Timpanogos Storytelling Festival (Lehi, UT), the Ojai Storytelling Festival (Ojai, CA), the Cave Run Storytelling Festival, (Morehead, KY), the St. Louis Storytelling Festival, and many, many others.
In addition to his work on the Main Stage, Robert loves to take interactive storytelling programs into area schools. Examples of this would be the Story of Oak Ridge, Tennessee's peaceful school desegregation in 1955; the Student Sit-ins at Fisk University in 1960; and numerous stories drawn from the Underground Railroad in the early 1800s. Robert feels that there are very few stories that cannot be enhanced with imagination and music.
At the start of the Soviet Union's aggression toward Ukraine Robert and acclaimed storyteller Corrine Stavish combined their talents for a one-night fundraising program that garnered over $10,000 in support of Ukrainian victims of the war. Storytelling is indeed a powerful tool for entertainment, teaching and social change!
